50 sexiest movie scenes
Film buffs have compiled a list of the 50 sexiest movie moments of all time that do not actually feature sex. Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney came out on top with a steamy scene from the 1998 crime caper Out Of Sight. The chemistry sizzles between Clooney`s escaped bank robber and J-Lo`s US Marshall when they find themselves locked together in the boot of a getaway car. The pair do not even kiss - but London`s Empire magazine rated it the sexiest sex-free movie moment in history. "Flirting for grown-ups by two of the most attractive people alive, with a bit of hostage fantasy and sly bondage thrown in - what`s not to like?" the magazine said. Second on the list is the swordfighting scene from The Mask Of Zorro where Catherine Zeta-Jones duels with Antonio Banderas. Other memorable scenes to make the Top 10 include Mena Suvari`s pouting cheerleader routine in American Beauty, and the moment Olivia Newton-John appears in eyewateringly tight trousers for the final scene in Grease. Madonna`s questionable reputation as the self-styled Queen of Erotica took another battering when her performance in Body of Evidence was voted the worst movie sex scene in history. Days after her lesbian tease frolics with Britney Spears and Christine Aguilera at the MTV awards, Madonna was panned in Empire as sharing the limpest celluloid scene of all time with Willem Dafoe. The 1992 film has naked Madonna drenching Dafoe with boiling wax while he is tied to a bed. But, according to Empire`s editor Colin Kennedy, Madonna`s lack of presence and acting skills has the encounter deservedly sitting at the top of the magazine`s "Flop 10" poll. Madonna and Dafoe`s effort is trailed by Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct. The couple`s contortions are slated as "too ugly, tarty and funny to be sexy". The magazine said "a glimpse of Douglas`s saggy bum was the final nail in that coffin". Marlon Brando`s role in Last Tango In Paris also failed to impress voters - especially his unorthodox use of butter - and Bruce Willis`s The Color Of Night was canned. Heather Graham`s bondage scene with Joseph Fiennes in Killing Me Softly is the most laughable of all, according to Empire. One movie that surprised with its inclusion was 9 1/2 weeks, featuring Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger. The 1986 production`s rain-drenched alley scene is condemned as "so `80s it hurts". The magazine, however, makes no apologies. "I am fed up with seeing the same list of films that are meant to be sexy - but just aren`t," Kennedy said.
